McBride was elected president at the Fredericks County Ameciaion meeting, with attendees confirming the leadership choice during the session.
Guy Kennedy and Perry Campbell, both described as colored, were arrested by Lt. Williams and Detectives Peters and Hamill on larceny charges. They confessed to stealing seven chickens from Mrs. Florence Harmon and Kennedy admitted a separate alleyway robbery of $2.60 from George Shrader. Campbell was caught at his home. Kennedy was seized on the street with a coal bag. Additional charges were not determined at press time.
Police report individuals Kennedy and Campbell, previously convicted of larceny, were sighted near Harmon chicken house Tuesday midnight. Several chickens were recovered in an empty house on Bloom alley.
A week of evangelistic meetings will be held by the Church of the Brethren in Sharpsburg from Sunday Feb 5 to Sunday Feb 12. Rev Harold Snider will preach on topics including Preparing the Way The Burden of Souls The History of Sin They Call it Sin The Pleasures of Sin The Love of God The Sacrifices of Christ Disappointments at the Judgment The Harvest Past and The Second Appearing of Christ. Evening services start at 7 30 o clock and the public is invited.
