George Febrey Suffered Severe Injuries in Three Accidents

Deputy Leister Isanogle on the trail after three Saturday crashes. George Febrey, 78, of St. James, lost a mangled hand when hit by a car driven by Harry Palmer near Hagerstown. Febrey was taken to Washington County Hospital. Palmer said glare blinded him. Other crashes involved Matilda Dukes near Greencastle and Charles McLaughlin near Chambersburg, with a Dukes vehicle going over a bank into a flower pot at Holsinger’s home. A third collision occurred between J A Beckley near Funkstown and Wilbur St Slick on the Cearfoss Greencastle pike.

Crash on Middleburg Pike Ties City to Bellevue Drive Way

Deputy Isanogle reports a collision on the Middleburg pike near the county home when Slick passed another car and turned sharply into Bellevue drive way. Slick’s car flipped while Beckley’s vehicle went over a bank and hit a wire fence. Both cars crowded the same direction.
