Winter rally draws 290 at county Boy Scout event
Over 290 people attended the first winter rally of the county Boy Scout troops held last evening in the High School gym. Dr. J. Walter Layman directed the rally with Stunts from troops including musical numbers and first aid demos. Frank Tewalt Kenneth Spence Paull Shields led games and songs. Junior High Holds Party for School Fund
The South Potomac Junior High school hosted a card party last night to raise money for the school fund. More than two hundred tickets were sold, fifty five donated prizes awarded, and a child game room offered six prizes. Students in green crepe dresses sold candy peanuts and punch and later served ice cream cake and coffee. Tallies and refreshments included apple sauce baked apples broiled pineapple and cranberry sauce with roast pork or ham.
