Mayor Hayes Given 10-Year Term in Waterbury Case
Waterbury Connecticut August 22 Mayor Frank Hayes convicted by a Superior Court jury of orchestrating a eight year conspiracy to plunder over 1 million from the city treasury was sentenced to ten to fifteen years in state prison at Hartford. His co defendants Daniel Leary Carl Olson and Thomas Kelly received seven to twelve year terms. Eight others were sentenced to jail or suspended terms with seven of the eight ending in prison.
