Passengers Marooned On Train Near Strothers, S.C.
WINNSBORO South Carolina Aug 17 Several hundred passengers were marooned last night near Strothers 25 miles above Columbia on the first and second sections of Southern Railway train No 10 because of high water in the Broad river. The passengers were being removed by automobile this morning for transport to Columbia. The train went through water up to the car steps at places and once several coaches dipped deeper as a trestle sagged while the train crossed the flood.
