Actual construction of a 100000 fire extension building the first in a 6 000 000 postwar program at the University of Maryland is expected to begin in the next three weeks Dr H C Byrd reported to Byrd president of the university plans for construction of 14 buildings and facilities for additions to two existing buildings and for remodeling and repairing other university property here at Baltimore and the Princess Anne College Pranches. Plans for all of the buildings now are being drafted by architects and Dr Byrd said it was hoped that all construction could be underway by spring.
