National Legion leaders to speak at Maryland convention opening
Governor Albert C Ritchie and Louis A Johnson national commander of the American Legion will address the opening of the Department of Maryland convention at the State Armory next Wednesday evening August 23. John R Tenney will preside and General Milton Reckord will also speak. Johnson from Clarksburg W Va will discuss veteran legislation and the public is invited. A musical program directed by Charles Howard Roderick will precede the address and the First Regiment Band of Frederick is expected to attend.

Wounded Man Sues for 50000 After Brain Injury
Frederick Maryland August 15 Harry M Lease of Braddock Heights filed a circuit court suit against Samuel McK Norris of Union Bridge for 50000 alleging Norris fired the bullet that lodged in Lease’s brain. Lease was wounded July 17 at the home of William M Higdon near East Knoxville. Norris was released on 2500 bond after an attempted self harm. Lease had been treated at Frederick City Hospital and X rays showed the bullet in his brain.

17 year old pleads guilty to murder in Flint circuit court
