Heart Attack Proves Fatal at Local Plant
Stricken with heart failure while loading a barrel from an automobile truck at Hagerstown Table Works on Elizabeth Street, William Middlekauff age 59 of 10 East Lee Street died at 3 pm yesterday. Justice Hoimmer, acting coroner, and Dr Norment ruled death from heart trouble, no inquest. Middlekauff had worked for D Ramacciotti’s fifteen years and ran a grocery business, and belonged to St Pauls Church, Men’s Bible Class, Sioux Tribe of Red Men, and Junior Co. E. ALM. He leaves a wife Carrie and other relatives.

Harper Denied Release After Habeas Proceeding
Charles Harper, 29, denied release by Frank G. Wagaman after a habeas corpus hearing. Held on a peace warrant in Chewsyville, arrested at the instance of his wife who charged threats to her and her sister. Justice Bitner ordered him held for five days pending Grand Jury action in November and he remained jailed as lawyers sought release.
