WPA to resume dismissals from relief rolls
Washington Aug 7 The WPA orders State Administrators to resume firing workers on WPA projects who have been on relief rolls 18 months or more. Col F C Harrington says dismissals must proceed before Aug 31 with veterans exempted, and after Aug 21 non veterans also dismissed as continuous employment ends. In New York 55 000 could be discharged by Sept 1.

Four Injured in Western Pike Crash Near Huyetts Crane
Four persons sustained cuts and bruises when two autos sideswiped on the Western pike at Huyetts crane roads about 1:30. Former Wyoming Congressman Mondell Dies in Washington
Frank W. Mondell, 79, former Republican floor leader who battled Speaker Cannon, died at his Washington home Sunday.
