Fire of undetermined origin yesterday afternoon destroyed a large barn and its contents on the Peter Ruffner farm, tenanted by William Metz, about a mile southeast of Downsville. Neighbors prevented spread to adjacent buildings. no livestock were present. About 150 bushels of corn, oats, seed wheat, part of this year’s wheat crop, binder, wagon, hay loader and rakes, and a corn crib were burned.

Mrs Eddie Duchin wife of orchestra leader died early today at Harper Sanitarium from complications after the birth of a son last Wednesday. Duchin was at her bedside when she died after flying from Chicago where he was engaged.
