League Head Strikes At Town County In Frederick City
Raymond J. Funkhouser, promoter of the Washington County Law and Order League, accused the Democratic party in the state of being wet and lax. He cited sheriff and deputies in Washington County as wet and stated officers failed to report liquor violations. The Frederick meeting formed a local branch with a seven member committee to select directors, echoing Washington County principles. Cumberland will be organized by May 16 as leaders seek to expand leagues to other counties.
