Ruth Judd declared insane by jury and to be moved to the state hospital for the insane in Phoenix. She spent her last day in the state prison playing with kittens and said nothing about the verdict as attendants believed her life had been spared. Formalities were to be completed today or tomorrow.
Prison attendants reported Mrs Judd appears in high spirits and offered no comment on transfer to the asylum or the fate of the fallows next Friday. Officials denied most visit requests, save for her aged parents the Rev H J McKinnell.
A head on collision between cars driven by Jonas D. Hutzell of this city and Albert Dean of Washington DC injured three people. CG E Heisey and Albert Waldschmidt of Frederick were admitted to Frederick Hospital with head injuries. Hutzell reportedly was not hurt. State police filed reckless driving charges against both drivers and trial was set for tonight in Frederick.
Dr. W. Ross Cameron county health officer may attend the 14th annual conference of health officers and boards of health of Maryland at Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health in Baltimore May 5 and 6. Invitations go to county commissioners educators mayors health officers and health nurses.
President Roosevelt greeted a party of veteran fishing skippers at the Washington waterfront aboard the schooner Gertrude L. Thebaud after their return from New England. He and Prime Minister MacDonald then met with the fishermen while First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, James Roosevelt, and Ishbel MacDonald toured the vessel. The sailors presented a fresh halibut and shared a lighthearted exchange with the President about feeding his family.
Professor Charles H. Roderick led a Waynesboro recital at St Pauls Reformed Church with students Joseph Bowers and Mrs B H Welty. Performances included piano duets solo numbers violin and song cycle alongside a vehicle theft report from George M Bohman of 1309 Oak Hill Avenue.
Troy New York April 23 175 men are recalled to work at the Green Island Ford Motor Co branch near here after a strike at Briggs Body in Detroit leaving 12 toolmakers on the payroll previously.
Easter weekend guests visit from Upper Darby Mercersburg Baltimore and Chambersburg. Families including the Yost Metcalfe Hartle Byers Cleary and Shank are noted. Local events mention a kitchen shower a birthday party in Hagerstown and a midweek Bible study at Trinity U B church.

The Bachelors Club of High Wycombe England imposes fines on each kiss or date to enforce decorum.
April 23 Charlton report notes Howard Ankeney and wife hosted a birthday dinner for Clyde Ankeney. Attendees included Mongan family, Grace and Olive Ankeney, Victor Clyde Katherine and Dorothy Ankeney, plus Marie Shirk and Dorothy Jane Grove. Several relatives visited in Hagerstown and Baltimore visits are listed.
The Hagerstown Grain and Feed Co lists market quotes for farm goods including bacon, hams, shoulders, turnips, potatoes, sweet potatoes, walnuts, onions, dried beans and apples, with prices per pound or bushel. Live turkeys fetch 10 to 20 cents, while wheat and corn futures show several price points for buyers.
Mrs Harry Bonney, missing since leaving Alor Stat Maley States on a night flight from Australia to England, was found 30 miles south of Vittoria Point Burma. She was unharmed though her plane damaged in landing after a storm overturned it on the Siamese island Baing. She survived on frugal rations and boiled water while learning Malay. A relief launch with food and supplies was sent from Renounr.
An unidentified woman offered to nurse William Franklin alias Ernest Langner, an itinerant astrologer held under guard in a Winchester hospital. Police declined the help as Langner, who claimed to be from Williamsport, took poison while en route to face charges in Waynesboro, Va. He has twice tried to escape. doctors say his condition is grave.
Simon Walter, 65, of Hanover, a brakeman on the Western Maryland Railroad, was fatally hurt when he fell beneath moving cars in Gettysburg railroad yards. Walter, due to retire late April, was found by fellow brakeman N. G. Seibert of Hagerstown and pronounced dead at the scene.
A Friday night blaze on Aaron Hoffman's Lietersburg area farm caused about 15000 in damages. The fire destroyed a barn, feed and grain, farming implements, four horses, six cows, six calves and numerous chickens, while the city junior fire company struggled to reach the scene through vehicle congestion.
