Dudley Crafts Watson a Chicago Institute lecturer will give a chalk talk under Washington County Museum approval. He aims to teach High School students that anyone can learn to draw at 10 A M on Tuesday April 18 in the Hagerstown High School Auditorium. The program also features the music pictures a Genesis to Revelations in the St Johns Lutheran auditorium at 830 P M the same day. Mercersburg Society Banquet Celebrates Debate Victory
The Marshall Literary Society of Mercersburg Academy held a Saturday banquet at the Dagmar hotel after beating the Irving Literary Society in a recent debate. About 140 students and faculty, including headmaster Dr. Boyd Edwards, attended as blue and gold banners, delphinium, Siberian tins, and jonquils decorated the room. Dr. Edwards and Messrs Douglas, Gilbert, Kempton and Murdock spoke, songs were sung, and new officers were elected: Brownell Merrell president, John B. Worden secretary, H. Tabb Hostetter sergeant-at-arms, with student rosters listed.

Palm Sunday services filled churches across the city and county with large crowds. Special music and sermons marked the day as Holy Week began. many congregations distributed palms and many planned further services and confirmations during Holy Week. At Christ Reformed Church 41 new members were received at morning confirmation, a pageant was staged, and plans for Holy Week services and April communions were announced. St Paula United Brethren drew 1,049 in Sunday school with 48 new members and 31 baptisms. attendance overflowed the morning service and Holy Week rites future sacraments and gatherings were outlined.
