The Board of Street Commissioners raised the Chief of Police salary to 200 a month, from 165, with prior 25 monthly for milk sample duties reassigned to the food and dairy inspector. The change accompanies regular pension provisions under state law.
M Finley Seibert retires after nine years on the Board of Street Commissioners. J Vincent Jamison Jr succeeds him. Col John Carmichael elected president. Dr Perry Prather minority member. Jamison sworn in. three-year term. Woodland Way curbing contract to A and Bean. Wilson Boulevard curb contract to Joseph D Baker. Chief Barber reports 113 arrests and $207 in fines over two weeks, mainly traffic violations.

The Alexander Hotel property was turned over at 6 o clock yesterday evening to the Antietam Hotel Company by Attorney Leo Miller trustee in bankruptcy. Fielding L. Williams of Richmond is president of the new company. W. B. Caum remains as manager, a former Eppley Hotels executive who ran 17 hotels. The move aims to improve rooms and the building, with dining rooms and coffee shop already upgraded.
Formation of Hook-Rohrbach, Inc to conduct a general investment business with offices at 114 West Washington Street. Edwin C. Hook named president, J B Rohrbach vice president, Rufus W. Edwards secretary treasurer. The firm takes over the McComas Armstrong investment department and will handle high grade securities and act as brokers for local securities.

Wires on Lee street tangled near the car barns around 7 30 last evening and fell, lighting the southern city for about 30 seconds. Residents thought a meteor or strange phenomenon struck. Annapolis Md April 1 The House of Delegates passed and sent to the Senate the Miller Black bass bill prohibiting commercial use of the game fish and restricting daily catch. It covers all waters of the state and limits one person to ten black bass per day.
