George Griffin a longtime Griffin House owner on lower Main Street Batavia died suddenly Monday morning. He collapsed at breakfast after complaining of cramps and a prickly sensation in his feet, likely from paralysis. Griffin was born in Virginia in 1824, married Mary Ann Wilson, had two children Elizabeth Hall and Reuben Griffin. Funeral held at home with Rev Morris officiating. telegrams of condolence from Cincinnati reached his children.
