The September Southern Lite Messenger prints Lieut. Maury on the Dead Sea voyage guided by Lieut. Lynch and Secretary Mason. The 1847 plan sent Lynch to survey the coast, navigate the Jordan, and circumnavigate the lake with the Supply.
