West Loveland teachers clash ends in dismissal of Pierce

Frank Davis, son of a local marble cutter, was aboard the Big Four wreck last Monday and survived. He says eleven were killed outright, more than reports indicated, and thirty injured, seven of whom may not live. He aided in rescuing passengers and witnessed a moment of extreme horror.

Well-Digger Rescued After 30 Foot Fall in Well
Michael Colgan, while digging a well for Wilson Tumblin in Lower Sprigg township, fell thirty feet to the bottom as bad air overwhelmed him. Tumblin lowered him to safety with help from a companion. Dr Heaton of Aberdeen treated Colgan, who survived initial unconsciousness though is gravely injured with scalp lacerations and internal injuries and has a slim chance of recovery.
