Col William Christy of Louisiana addresses the Nashville Convention recounting his banner-nailing at Fort Meigs and praising Gen. Harrison. He defends Dudley’s fate and attacks political opponents while declaring his Whig loyalties and defense of Jackson and Van Buren.

E Stone of Stafford county displayed a watermelon at Frederikke burg weighing seventy one pounds. It measured 3 feet 64 inches around the middle and 4 feet 7 inches in length. An exchange paper warns readers against peeking over a newspaper writer or loaning important papers as soon as the mail opens.
