Grand jury indicts Coyne for murder in Ohio shooting

Clermont County grand jury indicted Coyne on one murder count and two attempted murder counts tied to the Aug. 28 shooting at Coyne's Boot Hill Auto in Hamersville. Bond set at 125000 property and 20000 cash for murder, 10000 cash-property for each attempted murder. Survivors provided statements. judge noted possible juvenile action if laws were violated.

Crosswell Dissents in 2-to-1 County Admin Pick

James Buckner, 25, Eden ton, was appointed Clermont County administrator last Thursday by a 2-to-1 vote of county commissioners. Buckner will start Oct. 12 with a $25,000 annual salary. Commissioner He criticized the process while Croswell claimed Buckner would have 100 percent support from him, noting the county had been without an administrator.

Clermont County quits OKI secession approved by board

Clermont County commissioners voted unanimously to resign from the Ohio Kentucky Indiana Council of Governments. The board said continued OKI participation no longer serves the county’s interests and that regional planning duties can be met by the Ohio Valley Regional Development Council based in Portsmouth. They approved payment of this year’s OKI dues of 25,975 dollars.

Union Two voters angry at speeding and towing protest

Two groups of Union Township residents protested speeding along Burgoyne Road and towing cars from Cider Mill Drive. They urged immediate police action, warned of voting against the police levy renewal and reelection of trustees, and cited fires and safety risks for children living along the 0.6 mile stretch.
