OEPA shuts down CECOS hazardous waste landfill
Ohio Environmental Protection Agency barred the CECOS hazardous waste landfill from permanent operation citing 100 permit deficiencies and a poor compliance history. OEPA Director Dr. Richard L. Simmons Survives Nightmare Crash At Ohio Intersection

Deputy Shoots Dog After Attack in Monroe Township
In Monroe Township near Rolling Acres Drive a deputy shot and killed a pit bull that had bitten a person. Deputy John Parker responded with another officer to 2321 Rolling Acres Drive at 9:35 a.m. The homeowner led them to the back yard where the dog was killed to protect others. The dog’s body was taken for rabies check, the bite victim treated at Clermont Mercy Hospital, and the owner cited for failure to confinement.
