Two Cincinnati men sent to Ohio Penitentiary for burglaries
Edward Zeller and Ernest Angilan, both of Cincinnati, pleaded guilty to six burglary counts in Clermont County and were sentenced to one to 15 years. They had targeted Joe Colonel's Cafe, Tom Lees Lunch Room, Cline's in Neville, Dempsey's and Clark's in Ten Mile, and Day's Store in Milford. The grand jury also indicted four others and found six indictments after hearing 15 witnesses in nine cases.

Corn Hog payment advances to Clermont County farmers
The first installment of Corn-Hog checks totaling about $30,000 arrived last week. After verification by the State Crops Reporting figures and the allotment committee, contracts were forwarded to the State Board of Review at Columbus and then to Washington for federal checks. Within two weeks, the checks arrived and subsequent installments will follow to contract signers. Distribution is overseen by E. C. Saxton of Goshen, treasurer of the Corn-Hog Association.

The Williamsburg village council, in a special session, approved a five year contract with Southwestern Ohio Power Company. The new rates save residential users 5.4 percent to 33.3 percent versus the past year, with tiered charges for first 80 KW and higher usage.
