The Boston fair enjoyed perfect Thursday weather with clear skies and cool air. About 15,000 attendees filled the grounds, and the event featured superb stock, bountiful fruit and vegetables, and diverse entertainments including trained animals and a Bethel cadet band.
Assistant Attorney General William H. Miller held that all county commissioners in the state are to be elected in 1808 for two year terms. They will begin duties on the first Monday in September rather than December as the law now provides.
The 19th annual reunion of the Fifth Cavalry, Sth regiment Ohio Volunteer Cavalry, will occur in Commineville on Friday September 27. Origin traced to Gen John C Fremont as the 2d Ohio, later renamed by Governor Den tron, with recruitment at Camp Dick Robinson near Cincinnati. The regiment endured hard fighting and many privations. 4th cavalry meets at Lebanon.

State Examiner Ensminger reports a $10 342.70 shortage in Adams County from Sept 1 1908 to Apr 1 1907. Officials drew excess funds with evidence of fraud, and the sheriff has repaid $1 900.26. Irregularities include excessive stationery use and illegal fees by multiple officers.
The second annual Ly tle family picnic was held Monday at the Lytle Marmn east of Batavia with over five hundred attendees from Chelmatis, Amelia, Bethel and Batavia. Hosts showcased strong cooking and hospitality, delivering a midday feast long remembered.
Miss Catherine E. Ricker of Glen Rose wed Harry P. Moran of New York City in a simple ceremony at the bride’s parents’ home on August 28. Rev George H. Lee officiated with wildflower decorations as the couple, soon to reside in New York, began married life.
Miss Lou Ore Baugh daughter of Mr and Mrs J Orebaugh and James Elgin were married at the bride's parents home on Saturday afternoon August 31 1907 Rev Mdmuod Burdsall officiated The ceremony featured a smilax and fern decorated setting with Miss Bessie Walker leading the wedding march A buffet luncheon followed the service The couple plan to live in Tucson Arizona after visiting Washington and other eastern cities The guest list includes extended family and friends from the Orebaugh and related households.
Miss Nellie Leonard, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs James Leonard, married Frank Nordyke of Columbus at 9 am today. Rev FE Burdsall officiated before relatives and friends. The couple will live in Sabina after a Wilmington reception.
The 59th Ohio veterans plan a reunion at Highland Park on Saturday October 5 with General M J W Holter as president and J H Fairman as secretary. Senator Foraker will speak, badges distributed, and a large attendance expected. special cars and baskets requested. A letter from Captain James P Fyffe dated Chattanooga Tenn August 28 accompanies the notice.
Mre View Hallock and her son Lloyd left this morning for Norwood where Lloyd is employed by the Bell Telephone Company. Mrs Hallock’s friends and neighbors speak well of the family and Miss Julia Sullivan has secured teaching credentials and is open to engagements in that line. Julia is young but possesses extraordinary ability.
George Smith, aged 45, of Batavia township, died September 2 1907 after heart trouble. A farmer and financier, he leaves his wife Amanda Glaney, daughter Olive, a half brother and widow. Funeral at 2 30 this afternoon at his residence with Rev. E Burdsal and Rev. Fischer. burial in Citizens' cemetery.
Clermont friends learn that Barrington Bethymer, once a county citizen and long time magistrate and ex police judge, now 76, severely ill at his Muncie home. Civil War veteran, former postmaster, schoolteacher, and survivor of five Union brothers. He cannot attend Clermont home-coming.
