Voters face broad county race slate in Clermont County

Clermont County residents face a wide ballot for the November 5 election with key races for President Vice President United States Senate House of Representatives and numerous county offices. The write in option is required for all offices and several state issues bond proposals and tax relief questions are on the ballot. A landslide on U S 52 near Hamilton prompted detours via S R 125 8 Mile Road and Salem Road.

Trial Date Set In 1963 Slaying

Mrs. Helen Nathanson of Summerside is scheduled for trial December 12 on a first degree murder charge for the September 7, 1963 slaying of her husband Mel. She had been found legally insane in December 1963 and was in Lima State Hospital. Judge M Dale Osborne set the date after Nathanson’s release from the hospital was announced. Dolder, a State Highway Patrolman, was shot while officers tried to disarm her. he received a heroism award.
