Auto Accidents Claim 2 Lives in Clermont County
Two fatal crashes occurred in Clermont County on Monday night. Roy Mangle, 40, of Millerstown Pennsylvania, died when a vehicle crashed into a pole on Route 74 near Williamsburg. Allen Neff of Eastwood Ohio survived with no injuries. Maude Lynch and Myrtle White, both injured, were treated locally. A second fatal crash east of Back Run Road on Route 125 claimed James Barrett, 21, of Portsmouth, after the car went over a gravel embankment into Back Run Creek. Drivers Ray Luckey and four others from Portsmouth were involved. Barrett suffered a broken neck. Police, led by G. G. Auxier, investigated both incidents.

Aged farmer killed as train hits auto at Loveland crossing
William Erwin, a farmer living on the Earl E. Ertel farm near Mainville, was killed instantly last Thursday afternoon when his automobile was demolished by a Pennsylvania train at the Broadway crossing in Loveland, about fifty yards from the crossing. Mrs Erwin, about 75, survives one sister in Covington, Kentucky, and two nieces.

Felicity School Health Survey Finds Most Children Needing Remedial Care
On Tuesday and Wednesday of last week first grade pupils and some older students at Felicity School were examined by Acting Health Commissioner Die C. C. Beale. Of 49 children, six were defect free, while 38 showed a skin condition, five poor posture, 83 underweight, eight malnourished, two needing dental care, one with a hernia, eight nervousness, eight enlarged cervical glands, eight defective vision, one defective speech, and one infected tonsils. The department urges follow up with family physicians for remediation.
