In a late Saturday night quarrel between Harry Silvers and Valentine Burgemeyer, Silvers allegedly injured Burgemeyer with four deep knife-like cuts near the heart and groin region. Burgemeyer remains unconscious and may die. Silvers claims self defense as he was released on bail.
A Thursday evening reception hosted by Dr and Mrs Belt honored Mr and Mrs Charles F Jamieson and Mr and Mrs Percy F Jamieson with over a hundred attendees. The event featured an orchestral program, autumn decor, and supper at 10 o'clock, leaving guests with memories of gracious hospitality and abundance.

Halick is scheduled to address audiences in Yellow Springs on Wednesday night October 24 Jasper on October 25 Cedarville on an October night at an unspecified time He will attend the Foraker meeting in Xenia Saturday and speak in Highland County at Feesburg Monday afternoon and Rainsboro Tuesday night at Sagartree

Mrs. Samuel Hedrick, formerly of this place, now of Glen Este, was burned when dry bean pods near a fire ignited her dress. She collapsed outside, a bystander and an old man unable to fully extinguish the flames. She remains in excruciating pain as death is expected. Nearby woods owned by Miss Kate Duck Wall and an infirmary reserve are burning, aided by a brisk wind.
A switch error near Idlewild caused C. P. & V. engine No. 10 pulling a train of empties to derail after striking C., L. N. rails. Front wheels remained on good rails while other cars left the track. Part of the junction platform was torn up but damage was minor and North and Southbound C. L. & N. trains exchanged only passengers with minimal delay.
Mrs Lida Shields Jones, formerly of Clermont, dies instantly in Pittsburg when her carriage is struck by an electric streetcar. Her horse panics on the track and the carriage splits, leaving the 42 year old widow on the rail. Her father, Hon Thomas L Shields, once worked with the late R W, and the family home was part of the Jamieson estate. An unrelated ad touts Syrup of Figs as a health enhancer.
The Uniformed Rank K s of P will meet at their hall this Saturday evening for special and important business. Full attendance is requested. Adams County horse thieves arrest: Joshua Hodges of Ripley and Frank Johnson of Covington Kentucky jailed in default of $500 bond. Milford marriage: William Snider and Anna Teal wed October 18 at M E parsonage. The bride is daughter of S F Teal a Clermont county resident. groom a Hamilton mechanic.
A picaninny era tale notes Nathan Penn, a resident near Miamiville, robbed by three men on the B and O line between Remington and Symme. They took his dinner bucket and five dollars before fleeing toward Cincinnati. The paper also reports deaths, a fish haul by a U.S. car in Clermont, and local social news.
John Dumford a farmer near Weat Woodville and two others were on a straw load when a high wind overturned the wagon. Dumford was thrown onto a picket fence and crushed by straw with several ribs badly fractured and he was rescued and taken home. The others were slightly injured and his condition was serious Tuesday evening.
The Georgetown fair introduced a baby show with twenty three entries. Artist Mannings baby won first prize and Henry Abbott of Illinois took second. Several mothers contributed a dollar to each baby winner after some infants missed awards. A cave discovery near Winchester Ohio reveals carved rooms and bones of large stature with tools and a basin-like hollow rock.
