Mrs Mary Brunk Passes Away After Visiting Marathon

Mrs Mary Brunk, 75, wife of Daniel Brunk, died at John Brunk’s Marathon home after a weeklong visit and pneumonia. Survived by husband and five children, burial at Union Cemetery after funeral from the home. The community mourns the loss of a highly respected elder.

Farm Accident Hurts Reed and Son While Cutting Corn

Last Friday 8 P Reed and his son Clifford were slicing corn with a sled equipped knife on both sides pulled by a horse. The knife injured the leg above the heel, threatening loss of foot control. A plaster cast supports the leg while healing and officials hope the wound will knit.
