Veterans of the 59th gathered in Amelia with Col Howard presiding. 2000 plus attended the reunion with a grand parade, drums, and a dinner of ample fare. Officers elected for 1890 include John White as president and C L Greene as battalion president as Milford hosts next encampment.

Ripley Marshals Arrested After Fatal Shooting

The Ripley coroner’s inquest found William Fry died from pistol shots fired by town marshal Johan W. Thompson or deputy marshal James Long while Fry fled justice. Village baker Michael Russinger dies at 72 in Felicity

The Felicity baker known for supplying bread collapsed last Thursday from a hemorrhagic attack and died before revival. He was about 72. The A. O. U. W. took charge of his remains and he was buried Friday at Point Pleasant.

Man Dies After Walking Rail At White Oak Trestle

Samuel Rainey of Sardinia staggered along the 0 N W line last Wednesday, paused on White Oak trestle and, sleeping, was struck by a train. He fell into the ravine and died shortly after. The report warns against drinking and walking on railways or sleeping on trestles.

Last Saturday afternoon Mr Joseph Dial was returning from a reunion when he was knocked down by a buggy driven by Mick Wyre who was racing. Dial was brought to Dr Morris with facial bruises but no bones were broken.

Felicity farmer injured in knife attack by rival Altman

Oliver McKinley, a respected Felicity farmer, suffered severe cuts to face and neck after a quarrel with Dluley Altman. Altman drew a knife and was jailed in Batavia on charges of malicious cutting as of Sunday night. The incident occurred last Saturday night during a renewed dispute.
