The Batavia high school entertained the Freshman class last Friday night with decorations in class colors, flowers, and a program of games, dancing, initiation, and lunch. The event honored guests and showcased a promising group of students and a committed corps of teachers starting the year in earnest.

German U B conference session draws wide attendance

The German U B conference held in Batavia last week and Sunday attracted many attendees from near and far. Bishop Matthews led services with patriotic talks by Rev Wegner and P F Jamieson, and music by the Batavia Concert Band. The hall, loaned by M J Kain, was filled. about 30 ministers visited from across the state, staying with congregants. The conference endorsed the 4th liberty loan bond sale.

Clermont County Teachers Enroll in State Associations

Clermont County Teachers' Association met in Batavia with county Superintendent Aultman distributing Fourth Liberty Loan leaflets. The group unanimously joined the State, Southwestern, and Clermont County Teachers Associations and pledged high attendance at Southwestern events. Dr Hallquist of Cincinnati University and the county superintendent spoke. Miss Scott's pupil music delighted attendees.
