Citizens oppose sludge farm plan at Batavia hearing
At the Courthouse Annex in Batavia 27 people voted against the proposed sludge farm while none supported it. Forty six attendees heard officials discuss disposal options and EPA requirements for three regional plants in the county including East Fork O Bannon Creek and Nine Mile. Attorney Larry Walker represented homeowners opposing the site amid concerns about air and water pollution.
