Commissioners Open Bids To Extend PUB Water Mains
Clermont County Board of Commissioners opened bids for extending the Pierce Anon Bethel water system mains. Cloud and Alvernesse Inc Bellefontaine Ohio submitted the low bid of 210 873 for supplying water to more than 300 homes while the highest bid reached 234 989. The contract will be let November 29 with a 150 day completion window. The panel was told space could be rented for a new county judge in Amelia at Mrs Nellie Mattox’s home.

Relocation Hearing On Rt. 74 At Summerside Church
About 150 people attended a three hour hearing Tuesday at Summerside Methodist Church to discuss relocating Route 74. State engineers led by D G Ackermann explained the route and timing, with sections due to start next July and June contract letting, and others delayed to the 1959 1960 biennium. Dr Carl A Minning backed the plan saying it would bypass Mt Carmel business districts and speed access to Cincinnati hospitals. Continued on page two.

R J Hamon, a 76 year old Glen Este trainer, vanished after leaving Beulah Park in Grove City on Oct 8 with a belt holding about 4000 dollars. Jay Gregg, a Milford driver hailing from Ohio, was last in contact with Hamon as he allegedly traveled toward Perintown and then Louisville. Police seek Gregg and Hamon’s whereabouts while noting Hamon may have possessed over 13000 in cash and checks. Outstanding Hamon horses include My Accident Ruth Victory Dream Turbojet and Victory Blood. Turbojet allegedly sold for 2500 the day he disappeared.
