Tragic Coal Oil Fire Burns Family in Williamsburg
A four year old girl, daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry Malott, played with a coal oil can, causing a fire that spread through the room. The child died that evening. her mother and aunt were seriously burned while attempting to save her and neighbors aided in quelling the blaze. F Weaver wrapped the child in a horse blanket to smother the flames. The house was saved only with difficulty.
