Milk Producers Form Clermont County Union

The Clermont County Milk Producers Union named William McKay secretary treasurer and William McKay of Olive Branch as chairman at a Court House meeting. A nominating committee was appointed to prepare officer tickets for the annual meeting likely in Cincinnati in December. C. H. Boyer and William Hanrahan spoke on the union program and local progress.

Clermont 4-H Banquet Planned for Batavia

Clermont County announces its first 4-H Club Banquet to be held at the Ohio National Guard Armory Batavia on Thursday evening December 14. E. B. Baugh county agent says the Woman's Guild of Batavia Methodist Church will serve. The Foster Workers' Club to stage a 4-H Achievement program in Moscow on Saturday evening November 18 with recitations demonstrations plays and awards presented by E. Baugh. Mrs Edith Dick leads the club.

Dr McCulloch Visits Batavia Church Panel

Dr McCulloch of New York former pastor of Batavia Presbyterian Church spent a weekend with Judge and Mrs Hugh L Nichols and church members. A reception was held at the church last Saturday evening with refreshments for about 125 attendees. The 85 year old visitor is described as a wonderful man beloved by all who know him.

Pretty Batavia Wedding Unites Kathryn Adams and Louis Fishback

Last Wednesday evening a home wedding united Kathryn Adams and Louis Fishback in Batavia. The ceremony was led by Rev. A. P. Smith with close family in attendance. Attendants included Mrs. J. P. Moeschl, Miss Mary Fishback, Clark Gregg, and J. P. Moeschl. Myrtle Wilson sang I Love You Truly At Dawning and Lohengrin's Wedding March before a brief auto trip. They will reside at the Adams home with Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Moeschl.

The Batavia Woman's Club gathers with Mrs. Chas. Daugherty on Saturday November 18. The program centers on a Thanksgiving menu with readings and reflections on gratitude. Guests include Mrs. Wanamaker of Columbus and Mrs. Nichols.

Ohio marketing law enforcement to begin immediately

Warning from E A Fleming chief of the Ohio Division of Markets shows extension agents and county agents will alert fruit vegetable and honey producers that enforcement of the marketing law starts now. Inspectors note many violators were educated but now will be prosecuted.

A county wide conference for farmers institute officers and workers will be at the Batavia Court House Thursday evening November 23 from 6 30 to 9 30 with J P Schmidt State Supervisor of Farmers Institutes present. Institutes run January 8 15 and February 19 with dates set for Marathon Owensville Goshen Amelia. Recount in Stone Tick trustee race ends in Vogt win

Frank Vogt and Andy Eimer tied at 202 each for Stone Tick Township trustee. A recount on Saturday night by the County Election Board left the tally unchanged, then a disinterested number guessing method selected 138 as the key. Vogt’s guess of 12 beat Eimer’s 40, giving Vogt the certificate of election amid claims of pre election electioneering.

Clermont County Corn Field Day crowns Husking Kings

Merril Snider and Woodrow Snyder topped the 1933 Clermont County Corn Field Day contests held at the Cowdrey farm two miles northwest of Williamsburg. Snider won standing corn with 468.4 pounds. Snyder took first in shock corn with 360 pounds.

State Education Cuts Hit Clermont School Staff

Bad news for Clermont teachers and bus drivers as the state department of education orders a 6.5 percent salary cut for staff in state aid schools. County superintendent E. H. Pattison reports the cut raises total county reductions to about 24 percent over three years.

Fine monuments arrive from Georgetown plant in October

Three large monuments were shipped from Georgetown Marble and Granite Company in October. A Scotch granite piece for Charles McKeever rests at Williamsburg Ohio, noted as the largest coming through Boston port in three years. Other Barre granite monuments were sent to Augusta Kentucky for Dr. Samuel Laughlin and Brooksville Cemetery for Mrs. J. W. Byrne, with another order to Sharon, Kentucky for Isaac Reynolds. The firm claims strong fall orders and a growing reputation for handling large projects.

Red Cross calls for warm clothing with emphasis on girls coats and a shortage of men and boys shoes. Donations should be sent to the Red Cross in Batavia to be distributed to counties with the greatest need.
