New Richmond Woolen Mill Fire Ruled Suspicious

Fire destroyed the J and H Clasgens Co. woolen mill at 500 Ohio Street New Richmond in a blaze ruled suspicious by Fire Chief Fred Herbert. Investigators from the state fire marshal’s office visited the scene. authorities estimate losses likely over 1 million dollars. The brick building stood along the Ohio River and housed offices and display spaces for knitting yarns. no one was inside during the fire.
