The marriage contract restricts her from writing or acting in books until twenty years after the wedding.

Batavia high school held its commencement May 16 in City Hall with a large audience. A unique stage arrangement showcased two students at a time while a full program included orations, poems, a class history and prophecies. Louise Goodwin earned an Ohio Wesleyan College scholarship. several graduates plan to attend college next year.

New Richmond Plans Move Toward September Homecoming

Citizens in New Richmond discuss plans and specifications for a September homecoming. A large meeting in the town hall last Saturday selected five delegates to represent Ohio township at the county executive committee meeting in Batavia. Other localities coordinate similar actions with a Woman's Club gathering noted for 2:00 pm but rescheduled to 3:00 pm.

The Ohio Supreme Court ruled unanimously that while a district school is preferred, parents may seek admission to a school outside their district only if their own in district school is over a mile and a half away and farther from residence than the outside option. Afterward the couple attended Batavia commencements with Moody Drummond, then left for Pine Ridge Indian Agency South Dakota to take government school positions. Batavia High Alumni Banquet Reorganized After 18 Years

The Batavia high school alumni association held a reorganization banquet at the armory with about 150 attendees including non graduates. The event featured an ornate supper by the Presbyterian church women's aid society, music, reminiscences, and a business meeting electing F. P. Timmons president B. K. Dietz Case Moves Toward Trial Date Key Ruling

Clermont common pleas Judge Bambach held a brief Saturday session. He overruled a quash indictment motion from prior session and sustained the prosecutor’s motion to overrule plea in abatement. He also overruled the defense demurrer and set trial for June 27.

Stray Automobile Left for Repairs At Amelia Finds Owners

A large canopy-top car, nearly new with vivid brass fittings and red paint, was left at a local Amelia blacksmith for repairs by two young men. For days it drew crowds as owners failed to claim it. finally parties from the city proved ownership, paid for repairs, and drove away. The item may have connections to political campaigns and local outfits, but the owner remains uncertain.
