Ladies Aid Celebrates Mrs Moss Birthday With Gift Chair

Memorial Day Ceremonies At Amelia Mark Civil War Fifty Years
At Amelia Ohio the George W Robinson Post 487 Grand Army of the Republic led by Capt G L Cilley will stage memorial ceremonies at the Post hall. The program includes speaking recitations singing instrumental and martial music and a bugle call to honor the fiftieth anniversary of the Civil War with Lt H L Nichols of Batavia addressing the crowd.

Roy Foster Dies After Weeklong Illness
Roy Foster son of Mr and Mrs Daniel C Foster died at his parents home Monday at 6 p m after a week's illness. He was a bright Batavia student and well liked. Services were held at home Tuesday evening by Rev Shriver and the remains were taken to Manchester for burial Wednesday morning. The family has community sympathy.

Last Friday evening Batavia town hall hosted Cinderella in Flower Land performed by about two dozen Batavia children directed by Miss Mary Ellen Teal. The event featured a polished cast with beautiful costumes and a Batavia orchestra providing selections. Colored lighting by Walter Riley enhanced scenes, and the show was deemed a success with plans for a future reprise.

Bright Light Out Seven Year Old George Swing Dies
Word reached Batavia last Monday of the death in Cincinnati of George Swing youngest son of Judge Peter F. Swing and his wife after a long Brights disease illness. He lived in Batavia until age seven then moved with his parents to Indian Hill and Cincinnati. The bashful boy was remembered fondly by Batavians and was reportedly prospering in the electric motor business. He will be buried in Union Cemetery Wednesday.

Joseph McKibben, 21, was brought from Felicity to await grand jury action after C W Hayden cashed a self payable check for 20.50 and the instrument proved forged. McKibben left for Cincinnati, later found in Bethel, brought back for preliminary hearing, waived examination, held for grand jury.
