He toured Europe, formed How Newcomb Minstrels, prospered in the South, and grew wealthy in Cincinnati before losses from stocks and diamonds. A broken leg at Hooley's Brooklyn theater led to lingering illness and his death. friends plan his burial.

A 12 year old boy shoots the figure dead, later identified as the husband of a woman in the house. The incident is presented as coming from a reliable source with no doubt claimed.
