Frank Weaver a teamster was badly hurt when the neck-yoke broke on a long hill descent near Williamsburg. The wagon split in two with sections rolling 150 feet and beyond, throwing Weaver from the wagon and injuring his back and hips. doctors expect a probable recovery.
A Lodge of Knights of Pythias was established at Amelia last Thursday night. Members from Georgetown Higginsport and Felicity numbered 61. Grand Chancellor P. M. Offutt and the Georgetown team directed the work. The 2% charter members were made complete at daylight, marking seven secret societies in Amelia.
An 1889 letter from Norwood Ohio describes a rapidly growing suburb ten miles north of Cincinnati. It notes planned beautiful homes with strict moral standards, active beautification by property owners, forests on hillside East Norwood, a neat Methodist church, other denominations meeting in the town hall, and the Cincinnati Lebanon and Northern line crossing the C W & B at East Norwood station. The town is described as solidly Republican.

It warns city visitors, notes that lifting a woman uphill looks vulgar, and condemns any hand in hand escort as inappropriate except perhaps in France where it is linked to executioners and fear of danger.

Obituary items report the death of Alanson Halstead nine years old from a bowel disorder at Broadway home and funeral at the house before burial in St. Louis. Other notices list Henry Snell, Priscilla Gudgeon’s residence, Priscilla Gudgeon’s death, Miss Mary Harden Af ton, J C Pate Monterey, and a two year old daughter of C D Fisher Mt Moriah, all dying in May from illness or consumption.

The district seeks sealed proposals to prepare the necessary maps and plats to enable the county assessors to correctly reappraise Clermont County real estate for the year 1890.
Proposals will be received at the County Auditor's office in Batavia Ohio until noon Wednesday June 5 1589 for making maps and plats to aid district assessors in reappraising all real estate for 1890. Includes township and village sectional maps with boundaries owners and lot lines at scales 30 poles per inch and 80 feet per section with bonds of at least one thousand dollars. All work under the County Auditor. commissioners may reject bids.
