Meyer ap prentice seaman USN son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Meyer of Bethel Rt. 1 serves in the first crew of the guided missile destroyer USS Riddle scheduled for commissioning May 5 in Philadelphia. He becomes a plank owner as the ship is assigned home port at Philadelphia for its initial operations.
