Oldest Lodge in Batavia Celebrates Masonic History

Williamsburg honors the Clermont Social Lodge with noted members entering apprentices such as Judge O. T. Fishback and Thos. L. Morris. The hall, newly frescoed and furnished, preserves a 24 inch gauge relic from the lodge’s early days. Batavia Masons at No. 104 report initiations of Henry K. Johnson, E. Q. Seven Graduates Enter Batavia with a Joyful Commencement

The Batavia school held a Friday commencement for seven graduates Michael Groves Charles Ebinsberger Lida Avey Trilla Griffis Hattie Kain Pearl Leonard and Della Temple valedictorian in front of about 700 patrons. The program featured essays music and orations and praised the graduates for readiness to teach with many moving tributes and a packed hall. An alumni banquet will follow at Kline's hall with a list of graduates across classes and notes on former superintendents and Tabasco Tabasco and Williams Corner schools also cited.

Robinson Circus Delights Town with Spectacular Parade

John Robinson's circus returned Monday for a second stop this season and drew praise from all ages. The parade and tent acts impressed as the finest seen in the state with superb entry, renowned riders, exotic costumes, and a famous elephant Mary approving from afar. The show features skilled performers, orderly conduct, and a vast pavilion seating 10,000, led by manager Ga. W. Aiken and clown John Lowlow amid a strong local reception.
