John Jamieson born October 25 1793 in Pendleton County Kentucky served in the War of 1812 with gallantry. Last surviving member of the 1éth Kentucky regiment volunteers led by Colonel Forrester. Settled in Williamsburg after the war and was initiated as an Entered Apprentice Mason in Clermont Social Lodge No. 29 on April 28 1828. Oldest Mason in Ohio. His health waning this spring but he remains active. His son Milton Jamieson president of Batavia National Bank served in the Mexican War as a lieutenant. Grandson Charles F Jamieson editor of the Urbana Citizen and Gazette. Former deputy sheriff and jailer of the county, and earlier kept a hotel in Batavia and Mt Carmel.
