Land Owner Henry Baumann dies after stroke at 64
Henry Baumann of South Milford, a large stock raiser and farmer, suffered a stroke while en route to Beechwood and died hours later at home. A Milford resident for 40 years, he left a widow and eight grown children. Funeral in M E church with burial at Greenlawn Cemetery. He was widely respected in the community.

They left by 2 06 car for a short wedding trip and will reside in Bethel. On March 7 Albert Maxwell of Bethel and Edith Trisler were married at the parsonage with Mrs Burdeall officiating. They returned to Bethel for a reception and will reside in Amelia.

Wardrobe dispute ends in brawl at Armstrong home
In a Monday confrontation Mrs Martha Dial and Expressman Carl Griffith attempted to remove an old wardrobe from Mrs Armstrong's home. Arguments escalated into blows lasting about 80 minutes as a crowd gathered. Wardrobe wrecked, Mrs Armstrong disfigured, Mrs Dial cited for assault with trial set.

Tragic Death of James M. Gibboney Crushed by Car
James M. Gibboney of West Union died while cranking his car on a return trip from Cincinnati after an automobile show. The 44 year old man was dragged about 50 feet when the engine surged as he attempted to crank the machine, the overcoat catching in the machinery. His wife Myrtle Wright Gibboney witnessed the fatal accident and mourns alongside Batavians who knew the family.

Better Farming Special to Stop at Batavia March 27
The Better Farming Special train from the College of Agriculture Ohio State University will stop in Batavia from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday March 27 after leaving Cincinnati March 26 with stops at Newtown Perintown Mt. Crab Peebles Mowrystown Hillsboro and Seaman. A dozen agriculturists will lecture on horticulture livestock corn growing and forestry with free demonstrations and bulletins. The Norfolk and Western Railway funds the trip for Ohio farmers with free lectures and exhibits.
