In Washington last Friday burglars robbed four prominent firms. F L Statson's shop lost seven dollars after prying a rear window. C L Getze's grocery gained five dollars in cash and goods from the cellar. Huling Stubb’s hardware vanished razors and pocket knives. Sam Daneman’s dry goods saw two gold watches four cases of rings fifteen dollars in coins and cash taken. Arlington House cash drawer yielded ten dollars. Good Hope Robert McElwain’s store room lost postage stamps cash and more.
A clerklike swindler in Findlay attempted to take a newly bought sealskin sacque from a grateful buyer to “show it to a customer.” The item vanished, leaving the lady with her dollars but no sacque. The line ends with a sharp remark about prudence in handling valuables.
Samantha W Smalley of Mineral Springs in Adams county sues Samuel W Nichols a former Adams County Teachers Institute vice president now teaching, claiming he is the father of her two month old child. Nichols denies the charge calling it a diabolical scheme while admitting intimate contact with the mother.

Miss Aggie Hanlon returns to Barnesville after visiting, with Miss Pearl Hanlon staying until next fall. Bergan Turner returns home from Monterey, and Miss Carrie Young visits Cedron relatives. Rev Williamson starts meetings at Cedron Monday. Frank Rosas of Beaton visits J W Sanders family. Beasle Schafer, Julia Welahead, and Mary Hancock visit Anna Kohler. Mrs Perry received intelligence of her brother in law s death last Saturday Mr Clark of Mr Washington. Bertha and Ruth Perkins were guests of Homer Fitzpatrick recently Uncle Wesley Perkins visiting his son in Washington city and will attend the Inauguration of President Harrison. Frank Simplaon will make New Boston his home this summer Adam Myers will crop for William Perkins this season. The Clermont Courier is a welcome guest at this place.

Dr H H Robinson will base his practice at Milford and Boston on alternating weeks this month. He will be in Boston from the 7th to the 16th and from the 25th to the 26th, inclusive, with the rest of his time at Milford.
