Pioneer Practitioner and Old Resident Dies in Batavia

Dr. Leonard Westcott Bishop died at his home in Batavia Wednesday evening in his 90th year. A Hamilton County born physician and vaunted community leader, he treated cholera in Mt. Washington, aided Civil War recruit efforts, helped build the first railroad through the area, and taught in Goshen. Funeral services were held at his home conducted by Rev. Howard Billman. Nelson Applegate, a longtime Batavia farmer, died February 26 1903 at his home after a sudden decline from valvular heart trouble. He left a widow and several children. the funeral was held at the family residence.

Foot Warmer Cat Causes Commish to Reflect on Travel

Death of Rev. B. T. Morris at Stirling area recalled

Intelligence reports the death of Rev. B. T. Morris at Mr. Stirling last week. He served as pastor of the Christian church in Mt. Holly for thirty years and was highly regarded by the community. Batavia Improvement Company moves Williamsburg machine works to Batavia and will build a one story frame factory near the turnpike to New Richmond. A. V. Carroll C Williamsburg and P F Jamieson form a partnership to supply lathes tools and repairs with plans to add a foundry within months. Bids to be opened March 9 with completion in 30 days. Heinrici to Manage Chilli Cothe Independent Ball Team

Albert Heinrici proprietor of a gentle men's furnishings store will manage the Chilli cothe baseball team next season. Dr W C Griffith will oversee the store in his absence. Heinrici brings discipline and experience and plans to take two or three Batavia players including Paul Dustin. The group departs mid April with best wishes from friends.

Patterson and Moorehead Wed at Bride's Father Home

Joseph Patterson of Batavia and Mies Alma Moorehead of Williamsburg were married Wednesday evening at the bride's father's house. Patterson is a thrifty farmer and assistant infirmary superintendent. Moorehead becomes matron at the infirmary.
