Pilot Dies After Plane Crash Near Fair Oak Road
Lonzie Neal 48 of Cincinnati died at Christ Hospital after his single engine plane crashed near Fair Oak Rd at 5 45 p m Thursday. He suffered skull face and spine fractures and did not regain consciousness. The aircraft struck trees and power lines before crashing. responders included BMOP Fire Department Life Squad deputies Amelia officers and a state trooper. The plane had taken off from Lunken Airport after purchase May 31.

Baillargeon Sentenced 1 to 20 Years for Manslaughter
Nathan A. Baillargeon 26 of Rt. 1 New Richmond was given 1 to 20 years in Mansfield Reformatory by Common Pleas Judge M Dale Osborne after a jury found him guilty of first degree manslaughter in the January 9 death of Paul Slade 60 of Mt Holly Oil Station operator. He pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Slade was struck while pumping gas during a confrontation with Baillargeon who was pursuing his sister in law Virginia Stank. Baillargeon had been drinking heavily and did not recall the strike. Bernard Gilday Jr Cincinnati represented the defendant and Prosecuting Attorney Robert A Jones presented for the state.

Bids Sought for Clermont County Road Resurfacing Projects

Board Sets Two Student Programs For Clermont County
The Clermont County Board of Education plans a 395,146 summer effort with a 39,616 Head Start for 195 pre schoolers and a 49,530 Step Forward for 100 high school students funded under the Economic Opportunity Act. The Step Forward project will run June 20 to Sept. 3 with 100 jobs in schools and four guidance counselors.
