The 648 board seeks a half mill levy to fund county operations with an anticipated $426,425 raised, equating to about $50.05 per year per $100 of evaluation and roughly $8 to the average homeowner. The Mental Health tax was created in October 1968 after Ohio enacted House Bill 648 in 1967.
Four mental health agencies serving the county seek funding via a one half mill levy in the upcoming November 3 election. Programs include ment al health services, adult day treatment, and children's services with 22 board members. Activities cover education, consultation, health classes, DWI classes, referrals, emergency services, and individual family and group counseling.

Clermont County Sheriff reports thefts at the Homerama site on SR 132 south of Batavia. About $2,415 in materials were stolen from three home sites, including $650 in fireplace materials and $50 in nails from E S Homes. Red Oak Homes suffered $1,650 in losses for windows and nails. Clermont Developers also reported nails stolen.
