Summers programs at all Clermont branches and Book mobiles include theme based reading clubs. Batavia Bethel and others plan June story hours with food lunches and children events for grades 1 2 3 and preschool. Bookmobiles collect books from schools and no fines this month for returns to any branch.
The Clermont County Public Library lists branch bookmobile hours for UNION TOWNSHIP BETHEL BATAVIA and MILFORD locations. Schedules show daily opening times, with weekends at 10:30 to 5:30 p m and varying weekday hours for adults and children.
The May PTA meeting installed new officers for next year led by Doris Huntington as president and Joyce Waddell as 1st vice president. Also elected were Marilyn Garbett 2nd vice president Marian Weber secretary Dottie Kuhn treasurer Joyce Rinckel historian Clifford Traynor representative to Clermont county council Ruth Traynor second representative. The installation was conducted by Ralph Campbell. Also Bethel Tate School audit report released May 23 by Joseph T Ferguson Auditor of State with public inspection access at the Prosecuting Attorney and treasurer’s offices.
Galen Apgar, who had undergone three major operations in two months, died May 24 and is survived by three sons Glen Gene and Bernard. Funeral services were held at St. Louis Church May 27. visitation at Craver Funeral Home Milford on Friday. Also notes on Mrs Cele Morris recovering at home, Mrs Louise Damm’s passing, visits by Mr and Mrs Harry Rollins, and a Florida tour by Mrs Mary Lemon and Mrs Mabel Wilson. County schools held open meetings this week as part of the state wide Search for Consensus to give residents a channel to express opinions on education and to help draft goals for accountability for the 10th General Assembly. Amelia and Glen Este high schools hosted sessions on May 30 31, Batavia held one on May 24.
The All Girl Contester Association in Warren Clermont Hamilton and Butler counties announces the crowning of their 1972 73 Queen at the County Home on June 10 at 6 pm. Five candidates include Jessie Berchtold Corrina Browning Billie Smith Cindy Phelps and Susan Springer.
The Ladies' Auxiliary F.C.E. 2289 sponsors a June 3 dance at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall Foundry Street. An award will be presented to the winning ticket holder during the evening. Wanda Ungelhuem is Conductress of the Auxiliary.
