Lou Moore and family run Moore Funeral Homes, the nation’s oldest continuous family mortuary business with a Batavia and Newtown presence. Officials checking trucks at I-275 rest area

At the 1986 Clermont County Fair parimutual betting opened at 2 p.m. and over nine thousand dollars crossed the cashier’s gate. Fair Board member Lee Quallen called the turnout excellent while officials noted up to 82 percent of betting returns go to winners and the rest funds maintenance and taxes. Local entries were few on the first racing day as a large crowd cheered.
