Preparations for the G A R Encampment on August 21 and 22 at the Boston fair grounds progress as committees report and schedules are drafted. Veterans and friends are urged to stay two days and one night with a camp fire, music, orations, recitations, and a review of old battles.
Rev Love of Second M E Church misplaced his gold chronometer last Thursday after it vanished from his pocket. While searching, he found the item among ashes from a recent fire, remarking that the clock had endured a fiery trial and would not return to action, likening it to a faithful companion passed to time.
Interest grows in quietly merging Clermonts four traction companies into a single large system. Negotiations have been underway for weeks as Cincinnati and surrounding lines including Interurban and Ter Company The Milford and Love and Cincinnati and Columbus are involved.

The former home of Senator Morris in Bethel was sold by auction as a newer office building will replace it. Built in 1813 this house housed notable figures including Thomas Morris Thomas L. Hamer and General Grant with Nellie Grant born there. Jesse Grant once Bethel mayor and Grant’s father lived there.
