County figures seek funds to keep jail staff

Van Camp urged the commission to study funding the four employees including three deputies and one jailer who have undergone extensive on the job and academy training at county expense. He noted the sheriff cannot risk losing trained personnel as demand grows and requested review of General Fund options and courthouse heat scheduling to heat the jail by September rather than November.
