County aluminum drive planned for national defense effort

Final plans outline a county wide campaign to collect old aluminum for the national defense program. Residents will be contacted from the 21st to 24th with a general pickup set for Saturday the 26th in the county and in Batavia village. Roy Battles leads outreach with 4-H clubs, Boy Scouts, and local ministers aiding collection.

Women's Society To Sponsor Lawn Party

The Woman's Society of Christian Service of the Summerside church will sponsor a lawn party on July 25 on the church lawn. Ice cream and cake will be the center of attraction. Supper starts at 5 p.m. Fish sandwiches potato salad baked beans and coffee will be on the menu. A fish pond and a table of home sewn articles will be featured. Friends of the church are invited.
